Love Gives Wheels: A 36-hour bicycle donation drive on a lift!

This weekend Dynamic Church will host Love Gives Wheels, a 36-hour bicycle donation drive at the Walmart on Gunbarrel Road.  The event is scheduled to begin Friday, December 6 at 5:00 am and end Saturday, December 7 at 5:00 pm.

Dynamic Church has committed to doing something a little unconventional in efforts to fulfill hundreds of Christmas dreams this holiday season through The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.  Staff members from the church along with various community leaders and local celebrities will actually live in a 40 foot lift throughout the duration of the event.  The goal is to collect 500 bikes for The Angel Tree Program. Families are invited to participate in multiple festival type activities over the weekend including a mobile video game trailer, a balloon artist and pictures with popular children’s characters.

The following was contributed by Wesley Odum, head Pastor of the Dynamic Church.

Over the past two years, Dynamic Church has been privileged to partner with The Salvation Army in Chattanooga.  When looking for strategic partners Dynamic was searching for an organization that truly meets the needs of our community and has Christ at the core of it’s mission.  The Salvation Army embodies this through it’s mission and is a vital part of transforming lives throughout our city.

Last December we witnessed first hand the life The Salvation Army brings to everyday people in our community.  Dynamic hosted an event called Love Gives Wheels to collect bikes so that kids going without Christmas would experience a great lifelong memory. While distributing the bikes to the families, the amount of gratitude expressed from each parent moved my heart. This was more than providing a bike and a Christmas present, it was about providing a message of hope and love for our neighbors.

Because the event was so life-transforming and meaningful, we are at it again this year!  Our goal for Love Gives Wheels is to collect 500 bikes over 36-hours beginning this Friday at 5:00 am.  Visit http://www.csarmy.org where you can sign up to partner with us by serving and/or purchasing a bike.
