Salvation Army Serving Patten Towers Fire Evacuees
The Salvation Army of Greater Chattanooga is on the scene at the Brainerd Recreation Center located on North Moore Road to serve evacuees from the overnight Patten Towers fire. This morning, The Salvation Army served breakfast to over 300 individuals and are currently serving lunch. The Salvation Army is preparing to serve dinner tonight and all three meals tomorrow. Salvation Army personnel and volunteers from Winchester, TN are here to help serve the Patten Towers residents.
The American Red Cross reports more than 240 residents are being sheltered. The Salvation Army is serving with the American Red Cross to meet the needs of the evacuees. It is uncertain how long residents will be displaced, and The Salvation Army is preparing to serve as long as needed.
