The Salvation Army Offers Free Nurturing Program to Parents with Children up to Age Three!
Baby Song is an exciting Salvation Army outreach program for parents and their babies and toddlers. Parents of children up to three years old are invited to spend valuable time deepening the physical, emotional and spiritual bond between themselves and their child through music, song and movement.
Parents have always sung to their children as a means of loving communication. The focus of a Baby Song meeting is that parents and their babies will meet others with the same needs, build relationships and make music together in a fun, safe environment. Baby Song provides a natural opportunity for parents to assist their babies in language development and interaction through music. The babies experience developmentally appropriate songs and games, and the moms and dads gain parenting tips and other important information that encourages and guides.
The course is six weeks long and meets every Wednesday, beginning February 13, from 10:30 am until noon at The Salvation Army East Lake Corps, 2140 East 28th Street. This special singing time lasts 45 minutes and includes familiar songs, nursery rhymes, lullabies and more. After each session there will be refreshments and an opportunity to build relationships with the other parents.
