The Salvation Army to Present Annual Christmas Production: “Behold the Lamb of God” December 14-18!

The ReCreate Café of The Salvation Army 614 Corps to Present “Behold the Lamb of God” to benefit their Arts Program for the Homeless and Artist Communities of Chattanooga.

The show times are Dec 14-15, @ 7:30 pm, Dec 16 @ 3:00 pm and Dec 17-18 @ 7:30 pm at The Salvation Army, located at 800 McCallie Ave. Chattanooga, TN 37403.

The production features the music of Nashville Singer/Songwriter, Andrew Peterson, and is adapted to the stage by Tenika Dye, the ReCreate Cafe Artistic Director.  Peterson composed his musical rendition of the Christmas Story to “remind people of the holiday’s true significance.”  Peterson and friends have performed the collection of songs as a concert to sold-out crowds all over the country for the past thirteen years.

This show incorporates Peterson’s popular song cycle into a theatrical format using a cast of twelve, which represent the twelve Tribes of Israel.  “Story-Theatre” techniques are used to tell the Christmas Story from the very “beginning.”  In addition, visual elements, poetry and dance help make the production quite different than a conventional play, allowing the audience to not just hear the Christmas Story but to experience it!

This is an annual fundraising event with the ticket proceeds directly benefiting the Arts Program of ReCreate Cafe, which “bridges Chattanooga’s homeless citizens with artists and arts patrons through creative events.”

Seating is limited, so advance ticket purchase is highly suggested.  Tickets are $10 for general admission.  Tickets for senior citizens (65+) and all students are $8 (Children 5 and under are free.)  Tickets may be purchased at The Salvation Army Area Command Office Monday-Friday 8 am-4 pm at 822 McCallie Avenue Chattanooga, TN 37403, by phone at 423-756-1023 or online at www.csarmy.org.  Check out a preview here!
