Salvation Army Continues Angel Tree Registration Through November 7
The Salvation Army will continue registering families for the Angel Tree Program through November 7. Lines wrapped around the building each morning as we saw a record number of families registering during the first week of registration. The Salvation Army registered 1,486 angels in the first three days of registration, and we expect this number to reach over 5,000 angels this Christmas.
The Salvation Army needs 12-15 volunteers per day to register clients for our Angel Tree program. Volunteer positions include serving as a Greeter, Checker, and Data Registrar. We are also in need of Spanish speaking volunteers to serve during registration. Click here to sign up for a volunteer shift.
The Tennessee Valley will be able to adopt angels from their Angel Trees on Saturday, November 3, at Hamilton Place Mall, Northgate Mall, and Bradley Square Mall. Each tree is adorned with angel tags containing a child’s age, gender, clothing sizes, and toy wishes. Community members select an “angel,” purchase items for that child or senior based on the information on the tag, and then return the gifts to the store where the angel was chosen.
